The Straq concealed hinge is a unique patent-pending hinge that offers a clean, minimal look without visible parts when the door is closed. Unlike conventional concealed hinges, the Straq hinge requires only one cavity in one element, and can be surface-mounted on the opposing element. The Straq hinge is the first surface-mount hinge in the market that has a full opening angle of 180 degrees. Therefore, it is installation-wise fully applicable on all rotating doors in your project.

Product Discovery
A hinge can be opened most easily by pushing on the middle surface on the side of the product. On the cardboard packaging box, an instructive picture shows the exact location where to push, to open the hinge.
On the website, an installation manual document is available (Support section), that prescribes the recommended amount of hinges, including location of the hinges on the doors. The amount of hinges per door depends on the weight and the size of the door. The door-supplier can provide the weight of the door. An existing door can be placed on a weigh scale for determining the weight.
Installation will be most efficient if the door and/or doorframe have pre-applied cavities from factory (applied by CNC machine). The installation manual explains the option for installing the door with a manual router machine. There are different sequences to install a door with Straq hinges, the manual only describes one suggested way of installation.
Yes. The Straq hinge comes with 8 pcs. of wood screws size 4x40mm with Tx20 Torx head.
Yes. The cardboard packaging contains a drill-template on the bottom side, that can be used for pre-drilling holes. A professional metal drill template for frequent use can be ordered with specification CHDT120.
Yes, in case a doorcloser is installed, a second hinge needs to be installed 250-350mm below the top hinge.
In case an electric door-opener is installed, an extra hinge needs to be installed 250-350mm above the lowest hinge, as well as an extra hinge needs to be installed 250-350mm below the top hinge.
Yes, you can. A door-stopper needs to be installed if the door is being installed with thicker baseboards or cladding (thicker than 9mm). The location of the doorstopper needs to be at least 75% of the door width away from the hinge side.

Installation & Maintenance
Proper installation of doors with any type of hinges requires experience and professional craftmanship. We recommend installing doors with the assistance of a professional.
Manufacturers of doors and doorframes will generally use a factory-based cnc machine for application of cavities and screw-holes. In this way doors and doorframes can be installed on site without complex operations.
For certain renovation projects, a cavity in wooden door or doorframe can be applied with a manual router machine including milling jigs (120x30mm & 90x30mm). The router machine should be suitable for attaching a template guiding bush on. The installation manual in the support section describes the recommended steps for the installation.

A door with Straq hinges is basically proper installed if;
- The door can fully rotate open/close without any local hesitation/resistance.
- The door hangs vertically within the doorframe, with a gap of approximately 3mm on left, right and top side between door and doorframe. The gap between door and floor surface is approximately 7mm on all rotation positions.
- The door surface corresponds with the closing surface of the doorframe. In closed position, eventual door-seals are impressed lightly and equally around.
- All 8 screws are fully screwed in and all 4 screw covers are flush mounted on each hinge.
- The hinges are equipped with high-quality POM bearings and require minimal maintenance. Clean the hinges approximately every two years with a dry cloth; do not use cleaning agents or solvents
- If necessary, a small amount of grease may be applied to the moving parts with bearings. Do not use grease containing EP additives or high concentrations of graphite/MoS₂
- Over time, the door may shift slightly due to changes in weather conditions. Check annually to ensure the door is properly aligned within the frame. 3D adjustment may be required.
Before fixing the hinge on the surface of a steel doorframe following steps need to be taken:
- Drill 6 holes per hinge-location according the hole pattern in the non-installed door frame profile.
- Fix the steel plate HPSF120 with two M5 screws trough the two middle located holes. The steel plate is fixed on the wall-side surface of the door frame profile. After fixation of the two screws, the two screwheads must be flush with the hinge mounting surface of the doorframe.
- Install the doorframe into the wall, using proper pre-scribed fixation methods.
- Finally, each hinge can be screwed onto the steel doorframe and fixing plate with four M5 screws.
